The beta version of the ‘Rest API’ has been released and is available to all customers. This allows for programmatic access of your data which gives customers virtually full control over their data as if it was being stored on their own local servers. Using this API, customers are directly connecting into their collections to obtain product information that will seamlessly integrate into their custom applications. Using this API you can also access different views of your data, update data, and delete old data as needed. For more information on using the API please contact customer support.
Several individuals have mentioned that they sometimes get an error message that says they are unable to connect to the Mozenda Servers at this time. We have noticed that the majority of these cases are a result of the Agent Builder not being updated. To solve this problem, simply enter your control panel for the windows operating system and then click the Add/Remove Programs button. Inside this list you will see an application called ‘Mozenda Web Agent Builder’. Go ahead and remove this program. By doing this none of your data or agents will be affected. After you have done this you can go back to your account at http://login.mozenda.com and click ‘Download the Agent Builder.’ This will install a fresh and up to date copy of the builder and should solve any connection problems. Please don’t hesitate to call support if you experience any difficulties or have any questions about the process.
This week the engineers have released significant improvements to the way that List Pagers are created in the Mozenda system. Before now it was quite a difficult task to setup list pagers when there was no definite ‘Next’ button on the page. But with the new features and improvements, setting up a list pager on an incrementing number list is quick and easy. If you would like more help or training on how to take advantage of this functionality please contact support.
Many users have found success at getting much more consistent results from their capture actions by taking advantage of Associating their actions with nearby text. When you do this, no matter where the item moves on a page the Mozenda system will still be able to locate it and retrieve the correct information. This is particularly useful on pages that have varying amounts of data separated by rows. If one row is omitted for a particular object then the location of all the other objects on the page will shift up or down accordingly. Without associating your action with nearby text you run the risk of getting the wrong information showing up in the wrong column. To use the ‘Associate with Nearby Text’ function, highlight the action you are wishing to perform the function on, click the refine item location button and then you will see the ‘Associate with Nearby Text’ option. Please contact support if you have any questions or need help with this feature.
